CIAO! Were off to Rome to study the artists & philosophers of the Italian Renaissance. In addition, you child will gain confidence while learning the principles of one & two-point perspective drawing. Learn how to draw buildings and interiors using perspective techniques.

Realistic Pencil Portrait Drawing Camp

Ages 10 – 15

Art Instructor, Sarah Costic

Use the Grid Method, developed by the artists of the Italian Renaissance, to learn to draw realistic faces & portraits. This approach to drawing will provide the basis for proportion & three-dimensional shading skills to develop. Sarah will share special tips to render believable eyes, hair, and clothing. Use eight different graphite pencils to build value & texture essential elements to achieve a three-dimensional quality. In addition, young artists will learn how & when to use both the Kneaded Eraser and the Pink Pearl to remove elements from their drawings. This drawing style is a life-skill and will provide a foundation from which your child will continue to expand their knowledge of drawing & visual communication.

10:00 AM - NOON   "I want to be a Fashion Designer!" This career inspired workshop series will indulge your child's interest in learning the art of Fashion Design. Each week we will develop a project that involves the fashion industry from how to sew, to print fabric, to create a fashion illustration, fashion photography, & how to create accessories. Some projects will require a sewing machine, check with the studio or the website for information about each project.
