CLAY CLASSES

Wheels spinning, clay taking shape into a series of plates/mugs/dishes, six children becoming potters. This class is all about turning clay on the potter's wheel. Each child will set their individual turning goal. Nicole will demonstrate & guide each to achieve success, advance turning/trimming skills, & will introduce well-known artists, & various glaze techniques each week.

We are off to Rome to study the artists & philosophers of the Italian Renaissance. In addition, you child will gain confidence while learning the principles of one & two-point perspective drawing. Learn how to draw buildings and interiors using perspective techniques.

Introduction to graphite pencils, personal mark making, & value schemes will advance current drawing skills. The Creative Self Ages 8 - 15 Tuition $80 Art Instructor, Sarah Costic Tuesday Evenings, 4:30 - 6:00 PM January 10, 17, 24, & 31 February 7, 14, 21, & 28 March 6, 13, 20, & 27 Young artists will enjoy the freedom of working with paint, color pencils, and other materials. This fun studio art class is perfect for the artist who enjoys painting and drawing. Creativity and new experiences are encouraged in this class.
The Modern Studio January 5, 12, 19, & 26 Ages 6 - 10 Grades 1 - 3 February 2, 9, 16, & 23 Art Instructor, Nancy Kraig Each week, discover a contemporary artist & create a masterpiece using clay, paint, print making, or Paper Mache. Check in with the studio to learn about our weekly project. Take one, hour & a half workshop at $22 or purchase a package of four workshops at $80 *Workshops may be taken when it is convenient for your family schedule.
Middle School Artists Classes
Painting Pairs, Middle School Artists Program Ages 11 - 15 Grades 6 - 8 Tuition, $65 Art Instructor, Mallory Nixon Wednesday Evenings, 6:30 PM - 8:15 PM January 18 & 25 February 15 & 22 "Come one, come all! Come to the studio to paint this fall! Break out the brushes! Break out the paint! Put on your smock, it’s gonna be great!" -Teacher & Poet, Mr. Mallory Nixon We will use watercolor, tempera, and acrylic as our painting media, each painting’s theme will involve a “pair” of something….a pair of glasses, a pair of cowboy boots, and maybe even a pear!

I Want to be a Fashion Designer Ages 8 - 15 Art Instructor, Nancy Kraig Tuition $44 Mondays, 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM Date to be announced "I want to be a Fashion Designer!" This career inspired workshop series will indulge your child's interest in learning the art of Fashion Design. Each week we will develop a project that involves the fashion industry from how to sew, to print fabric, to create a fashion illustration, fashion photography, & how to create accessories. Some projects will require a sewing machine, check with the studio or the website for information about each project.
